Thursday Kicks off the 2014 USPA Piaget World Snow Polo Championship.
Action from the 2013 Piaget Snow Polo Championship in Aspen, Colorado.
Action in the 2014 USPA Piaget World Snow Polo Championship will get started at 11:30am at the Aspen Valley Polo Club’s arena in Carbondale with three team round robin competitions.
Piaget (Marc Ganzi, Jeff Hall and Nic Roldan) will open the day facing Flex Jet (Tommy Kato, Marten Pepa and Luis Escobar) in two chukkers of play.
The loser of the first mini-match will play the Aspen Valley Polo Club (Juan Bollini, Jr., Andrea Gonzalez and Alejandro Novillo Astrada).
The winner of the first mini-match will finish the round-robin by facing the Aspen Valley Polo Club.
The second round-robin of the day is slated to begin at 1:30pm and will feature a United States Polo Association team (Grant Ganzi, Brandon Phillips and Tommy Biddle) and Audi (Melissa Ganzi, Kris Kampsen and Juan Bollini).
The losing team will stay in the arena to play St. Regis (Alejandro Gonzalez, Mariano Gracida and Roberto Gonzalez).
St. Regis will remain in the arena to play the winner of the USPA vs. Audi game.
The top four teams will go on to play on Friday with the winners of Friday’s competition meeting in Saturday’s finals. The losing teams on Friday will play for third place honors on Saturday, before the tournament final.
