Dubai wins Bronze Cup in Sotogrande

Rashid Albardy’s team wins the first high-goal final in Sotogrande

DUBAI WERE THE winners of the high-goal Bronze Cup at Santa Maria Polo Club in Sotogrande.

The team of Albwardy, Martin Valent, Adolfo Cambiaso and Patricio Cieza came up against Michael Redding’s Scapa, which featured British four-goaler Jack Richardson, in the final of the 22-goal tournament. Dubai led from the second chukka to win the final 12-9 and claim the first high-goal honours of the Sotogrande season.

Both teams are currently contesting the Silver Cup, and faced each other once again on the opening day of the tournament. On this occasion Scapa came out on top, getting revenge by beating Dubai 9-7.

The medium and low-goal Bronze Cups also concluded at the weekend. Kaptive Leones was the winner of the medium-goal title, successfully seeing off Dr. A in the final, 13-9.

Los Dragones lifted the low-goal Bronze Cup, after beating Silex 10-7.
