Cambiaso and co win the Argentine Open final to secure the Triple Crown
LA DOLFINA CLAIMED the Argentine Triple Crown for the first time when they defeated Alegria to win the Argentine Open final.
The team of Adolfo Cambiaso, Pablo MacDonough, David “Pelon” Stirling and Sebastian Merlos – who stood in for the injured Juan Martin Nero – beat Alegria 16-11 at Palermo on Saturday.
The Alegria, made up of Fred Mannix, Hilario Ulloa, Polito Pieres and Lucas Monteverde, put up a tough fight and the game remained close until the seventh chukka, with no more than two goals separating the teams at any time. As the match entered the latter stages however, the powerful La Dolfina foursome pulled away to secure a comfortable win.
