How Long does it Take to Train Polo Horses?

Did you know that the preparation and training of polo horses takes several years? Training for equines generally begins at three years of age and lasts approximately two years. Before the age of three, it is only taming.

The best ponies begin to compete when they are five years old and continue to do so until they are about 12. There are some exceptions of horses that compete even up to 15 years or more.
