POLO TECHNIQUES
When it comes to the polo techniques , the need to ride well on horseback and the technique to hit the ball, are the two most important aspects. Here we introduce four of the most popular polo techniques used by professional polo players.
1. The offside Forehand
Its the natural hit. The direction of the ball depends on the angle of rotation of the player’s body, which at the same time determines the frame of the taco’s head. Ideally, the taco must hit the ball at the time the front right leg of the horse is on the floor and just next to the ball.
2 . The offside backhand
This hit is generally done onward from de left side of the horse. In an optimum backhand, the taco must hit the ball at the time the front left leg of the horse is on the floor and just next to the ball.
3. The nearside forhead
Hit given backwards by the right side of the horse, with the back side of the taco.
4. The nearside backhand
Hit given backwards by the left side of the horse.
